More than Just a Balloon

This project acts as an introductory project for new members to learn about building a unified control system and learn essential skills that they will use not only in the team but throughout their careers as well. In this last project launch the team worked to create a balloon mission labeled ‘UP’ that was launched in interior BC this last September.

The balloon was able to rise to approximately 30’000 meters, communicate with the ground station and collect essential temperature, humidity and pressure data during the launch. Now, many of the members of our last balloon project are now our current CSDC leads verifying the success of the project.
